Dr. R. Jordan Mechell was born and raised in a small town in South Texas. At a very young age, he found himself fascinated by the field of medicine and surgery. After graduating early from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004, he become a sub-clinical research coordinator in which he assisted in several phase 1 and 2 clinical trials to advance the medical management and understanding of diabetes.
During this time, Dr. Mechell decided to pursue his dreams in becoming a physician. He was introduced to the field of Podiatry and, with his right foot forward, he graduated from the California School of Podiatric Medicine in 2010. He is a recent graduate from the Presence Saint Joseph Hospital Residency Program in Chicago, Illinois where he received a Reconstructive Rearfoot Accreditation certificate. During his time in residency, he served as Chief Resident of the program and published several journal articles and research displays.
He has extensive training in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, limb deformity correction, nerve decompression procedures, and diabetic limb salvage. He received rigorous training in both internal and external (Ilizarov technique) fixation devices as well as several muscle advancement surgeries. He studied and trained under one of the forefront leaders in the external fixation device arena.
Additionally, he took part in many rigorous conferences catered to limb deformity correction surgeries. Dr. Mechell is committed to serving the community and understands the importance of educating his patients on their ailments. His personal goal is to help every patient take a better, healthier step by developing a tailored treatment plan based on the patient’s individual needs. He is dedicated to pursuing the latest medical and surgical procedures. Outside of Podiatry, he is an avid runner and a music enthusiast.
